Montesa
Not long after the first Montesa Cota trials models appeared in 1967, Montesa's chief development engineer, Pedro Pi, won the Spanish Trials Championship. Cotas have continuously been involved in observed trials since that time, amassing an incredible number of event and championship wins.
Above, Matt on a Cota 247, Dick Mann Vintage Dirt Bike Rally, likely 1988. Many bikes carry a tall tale; this one was supposedly given to Malcolm Smith as a thank-you for his use of a Cota in"On Any Sunday,"although not the actual bike in the film. I had no reason to believe that story, and didn't keep track of where the bike went when it left my hands. Kinda diggin'the sweatpants, though.
